Our technological foundation is deeply rooted in innovation. Our commercial predecessor was co-founded by an MIT-trained engineer and operated adjacent to campus for over 40 years—fostering a culture of early adoption and technical experimentation. From pioneering tools like one of New England’s first Japanese character typewriters to early machine translation applications used by platforms such as AltaVista and CompuServe, this legacy continues to shape our approach today.
Our mission is to deliver pro bono language services without compromise in quality or performance. Through programs like AiTranslate Pro Bono Accounts, legal aid organizations and nonprofits gain access to the same advanced platforms used by AmLaw 200 firms. By combining funding, technical expertise, and workflow design, we deliver solutions that are both efficient and aligned with industry standards.
Promoting broader access to modern language tools is central to our long-term vision. We actively support the adoption of APIs and integration services outlined in the previous section, helping organizations embed multilingual capabilities into their everyday systems.
Looking ahead, we are exploring the development of publicly accessible platforms designed to introduce and democratize emerging language technologies—further advancing access, equity, and innovation across the communities we serve.
