In 1967, two Harvard Law School intellectual property lawyers and an MIT mechanical engineer founded a specialized translation company, originally called The Legal Translating Service. Focused on patent translation, the firm quickly secured a major project with Gillette—translating 12,000 pages for its acquisition of Braun North America. Delivering the work on time and under budget set the standard for decades to come.
The company soon expanded beyond patents, becoming Linguistic Systems, Inc. and a trusted partner to law firms, corporations, medical institutions, and government agencies. Known for accuracy, speed, and subject-matter expertise, it delivered complex legal and technical translations across industries for over 60 years.
